The bigheads are made of cardboard, from an original mold (made by Rafel Perez), designed and built by the members of Botafocs, as well as dresses.. Construidos en 2013. Built in 2013.
Since the year 2000, for the day of San Juan (june 24th), we organize every year a Meeting of Beasts of Fire and water in Castellón, with the presence of bestiary of different regions of Catalonia and Valencia. We are already going through the XVII call!!!.
Have participated in the different editions ,the Cucafera of Tortosa, the Dragon of Reus, the Faramir of Rasquera, the Víbria of Tarragona, the Dragon of Montblanc, the Magnafoc of Vilobí, the Dragon of the Cabañas del Penedés, El Cuervo of Corbera de Llobregat , the Dragon of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, the Víbria of Barcelona, the tricéfalo Dragon of Granollers, the Cabrot of Vendrell, the Dragon of Alcoy, the Dragon Parellot of Santa Fe del Penedés, the Garça of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, the Dragon Apocaleus of Vallirana, the Víbria of Poblenou, the Águilas of Corpus de Valencia, the Víbria of Barcelona, the Dragon of Figueres, Dragon of San Jorge de Alcoy, the wild beast Fierce Dragon of Alboraia .... and, of course the Dragons of Castellón and the Víbria of Botafocs.
Also, since the year 2000 we have organized a Bestiary Exhibition in the exhibition hall of the Dávalos-Fletcher Foundation of Castellón (we have been there for 18 years now!), In order to transmit the general characteristics of the bestiary world, the popular iconography and the identity traits that characterize us. In each show we have had the presence of different pieces of bestiary, graphic materials, die cut, press clippings, audiovisuals and photo montages (on the typology of bestiary pieces, the process of construction of a figure, or on the devil world ).
The collaboration of different entities in our regions and the attendance of numerous public to the events we organize, encourages us to continue in the same line of work: disseminate, enhance and renew our popular culture.
